    Change user fail

    Hi!

    I'm currently on Kubuntu 14.10 KDE 4.14.2 32-bit.
For a (very) long time (several versiion back) I've problems switching users (been to lazy to adress the problem). What happens is that switching users (me, my girlfriend and our son) we always get freezes/lockups changing users via GUI.
Some times it's not possible to login as a second user and almost 100% of the time it's not possible to return properly to the first user.
If it works you always get to the original login screen (that is not to the "locked screen" login for that user). That means that instead of returning to the previous you always start a new session.
(crtl+alt FnX makes no diffrence) Returning to previous session results in black screen and hard reset needed.

I have tried changing between kdm and lightdm but no change. I have no clue as to how to trace the problem or what information could be useful.
I noted that when i log on three sessions are started (via "who" or "users" command).

From "dmesg" I see some user related errors that I don't understand (I have tried google them too).

    [ 31.905169] systemd-logind[1122]: Failed to start unit user@118.service: Unknown unit: user@118.service
[ 31.905176] systemd-logind[1122]: Failed to start user service: Unknown unit: user@118.service
    [ 31.909711] systemd-logind[1122]: New session c1 of user lightdm.
    [ 31.909728] systemd-logind[1122]: Linked /tmp/.X11-unix/X0 to /run/user/118/X11-display.
    ........
    [ 47.408451] systemd-logind[1122]: Failed to start unit user@1000.service: Unknown unit: user@1000.service
[ 47.408458] systemd-logind[1122]: Failed to start user service: Unknown unit: user@1000.service
    [ 47.426777] systemd-logind[1122]: New session c2 of user palle.
    [ 47.426792] systemd-logind[1122]: Linked /tmp/.X11-unix/X0 to /run/user/1000/X11-display.

    Anyone ---

Did you fresh install or upgrade to 14.10?

There are known bugs in 14.10 but I do not see your listed. Some of them look at the same error as yours [1122] which is listed but not your issue, I would sign up to Launchpad and report that. so they can maybe track it. Link is https://launchpad.net/
