[KDE] desktop size changes after almost each login [after upgrade to 14.10]

Hi,
I'm experiencing an annoying problem with my desktop. Its layout (or size?) is wrongly set after almoust each login (more or less 9/10). When this happens, there are no icons, but the sliding bar at the right, which makes no effect at al. To restore desktop to the proper layout (with icons and no sliding bar) I need to change resolution to any lower value and then switch back to my native 1920x1080. This problem is persisting after upgrade to 14.10. I guess it has sth to do with virtual desktop size, but I'm not sure. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks!

What are you referring to here? I have one desktop size setting from the Kmenu >> Settings >> System Settings >> Display and Monitor. What do you have in the display settings?
