no debug symbols for nepomuk stub crash

nepomuk service stub crashes everytime, either at login or some time after. Everytime.

I can't get any useful backtrace. It simply says segmentation fault. I have installed dbg packages. See also
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...er/+bug/774664

Anyone there with how to get backtrace. BTW I haven't found a similar bug unresolved for my kubuntu 13.04 KDE 4.10.4.

I have been having the exact same results as you. No solution here, just a rant: One would think if the developers were going to shove something as useless as nepomuk down our throats they would at least ensure it worked. But maybe that's just me

      hey oshunluvr,

sometimes (like today) I do get a backtrace, but most times not! I agree it is very disappointing. I haven't used kmail for years. Let's hope nepomuk in 4.11 will be much better.

About the rant. Well, I am only a user (for 5 years). I haven't contributed money either (yet). So I can't rant. But it is disappointing indeed. I got on the linux wagon with kde 4 excited about all this semantic and plasma talk. It is disappointing. But I am gonna stick with it for now. If it is OK with others, let's not turn it into a rant. I think the majority agree with you.

Now to the point: Today I did get a backtrace (really a work of the devil - I only posted this yesterday!). And it even found a matching bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=321854). Last time I got a backtrace was weeks ago (it crashes daily without a useful one) but no similar suggested bugs. Just a list of uncomprehensible.. well I am only a user.

So what is the story with not getting a backtrace? Anyone else out there? Is launchpad and
      https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...er/+bug/774664
      useful? OK, nevermind rant away!

      cheers

I hope you get somewhere. I could never get a usable trace, and in the software engineers world - no trace = no problem
