    Google Chrome

    I have Kubuntu 11.10, KDE 4.8 and Chrome 17.0.963.46 installed, and I think this problem occured when I updated chrome. When I maximize chrome window, the buttons for min,max and exit disappear, but if I don't have the full size windows they are there. Any way to fix that?

    Preferences>Personal Stuff>under Appearance, is "Hide system title bar and use compact borders" checked? That does the trick for me.

        And changing the theme back to classic doesn't do it? I'm upgrading Chrome right now. I'll report back if I see the same behavior.

          I am running your version now and I do not have the same problem. You might want to submit a bug report to google.

                  Launchpad has four PPAs for Chromium, the open source version of Chrome.

                  * Stable: version 16.0.912.77, built 24 Jan 2012
                  * Beta: version 17.0.963.46, built 31 Jan 2012
                  * Dev: version 17.0.963.26, built 5 Jan 2012
                  * Daily: version 18.0.997.0, built 5 Jan 2012

                  I've used the dev and daily versions on various computers, haven't had any problems.

                  The builds in the beta channel appear to be broken, and the build bot hasn't attempted another pass in a while. According to apt-cache policy, the working version in beta is pretty old: 14.0.835.126, which is older than what's in Oneiric's repo (14.0.835.202).

                    Today I updated it, but it's still the same, I don't know if I'll use Chromium, I did try it once but I don't think I'm switching. I also reported bug, so I'll wait for an answer.

                      I just had to check the Use system title bar and borders and restart chrome.

                        If it's any consolation, you are not alone.
                        I lose the windows controls in Chromium on maximised window also.
                        So far, I see only Chromium affected so I guess it's a Google thing.
                        Not a major problem, I only use Chromium as a backup browser.
