    Recording -- audacity + pavucontrol

I just re-started my longterm recording project, in which I am trying to get about 200 vinyl record albums captured. (I interrupted the project in July when I needed the space where the turntable sits for a 'puter project.) Anyway, today's revelation is that pavucontrol has been developed to the point where it now complements audacity, letting me use pavucontrol to set the input level on the rear line-in audio port, with an eye to getting maximum dynamic range, without clipping, directly from the recording (as opposed to having to use audacity's "normalize level" DSP function post-recording. Very cool! 8)

That's "Over and Over" from Fleetwood Mac's 1979 Tusk album, FYI. KDE 4.7.2 on debian.
