The sync has been solved in another thread and Akregator is working.
This tread can be removed.
this is not a high priority but thought it might be of interest to those not fiddling with it and also a question.
a) akregator within Kontact in 4.7.3 is just a button and does nothing when it did in the previous version.
b) I have never actually attempted to "sync" Kontact with google mail, I always just did the ical thing every couple of days.
So, thought I would do that, did the akonadi calendar google addition to akonadi etc., got the "akonadi_gcal_resource_0 in the calendars but it won't sync.
I read around a lot on the net and there is nothing "current" about it in terms of problems although there are some 2011 threads on task syncing etc.
One "main item" seems to be that one is to add the google "certificate" and mention was made of adding the ca certificates etc.
However, when I go to to ssl versions and certificates, google is not in the list and the add button requires navigating to a
DER/PEM/Netscape-encoded X.509 certificate
but
a) one cannot navigate by clicking the folder to navigate
b) don't know where to get one, it is not evident on the google page, although there are a lot of threads at google about getting a certificate into Chrome so...
.... any particular comments?
Again, this is no biggie, I'm perking along ok so..
