Can not move folder widget

When I create a folder widget on the desktop I can't move it. I can get in to the properties, make the needed changes, however, when I move it it snaps back to the center of the screen. Very strange. This also happens if I try to put a program icon on the desktop. They appear in the center of the screen, when I try to move them, they snap back to the center of the screen. I am using KDE 4.6.2 on Natty.

did you rite click the desktop and unlock the widgets ?
