Any news on KDE 4.7 for Natty?

KDE 4.7 has been out since the 26th, almost 2 weeks now. Wont it be released for Natty other then in the backports?

I have several unmet dependencies with upgrading through the backports, anyone have any idea or suggestion? How is it for those running Oneric?

... or is it just a case of me having lack of patience

As is the way with Ubuntu, and Kubuntu, you will not get major new software version in a *buntu release - so there never will be 4.7 in natty. Though if there is a new version of 4.6 released, it may eventually end up in the normal 'backports' repo. But even then most Kubuntu minor updates are released in the kubuntu updates ppa.

The Kubuntu backports ppa is for major new KDE versions, such as for upgrading natty/4.6 to 4.7.

While these packages do not have the official time length of support that the official repos have, these ppa's are created by the Kubuntu team themselves, so in Kubuntu-only terms, they can be considered official.

My old, but still accurate blog post on kubuntu repos can be read here
