4.6 takes too long to shut down

    Hi

Running Kubuntu 10.10 with upgrade to KDE 4.6.

All seems well, except for 1 thing. When I shut down with the right click menu after a second or so the logout sound begins and when that finishes the computer shuts down as expected. However, when I hit the "off" button, there is a delay of about 20 seconds, then the shutdown sound, then the computer shuts down.

I'd like to find out, if possible, what is causing the delay. Is there a command in the terminal so that I can view the output, to hopefully see what is causing this?

    Thanks

    Ian

I had similar problems. I turned off Nepomuk and set the system to start with an empty session, also installed all updates, everything works fine now. I set desktop effects to use xrender and set the animation speed to fast. So far no crashes and the system is quick.

Yeah, I thought about nepomuk too. However, I had that running with 4.5 also without this problem, and it's fine when I shut down via the logout menu - strange!!
