Edit: Seems to be solved in 4.6
I consider this a specific Kubuntu problem, since it wasn't there in Mandriva 2010.1. It's not a showstopper, but quite irritating
I prefer to lock icons in place on the desktop (rightclick>icons>lock in place), some distance out from the left border.
This works perfectly, until I download something (like a picture) to the desktop - then the icons will be forced back to the grid, and will be locked there, instead of in my choosen positions.
How do I get around this - is it still present in later versions of Kde? (I use 4.5.1, on a regularily updated 10.10).
