    make botton panel NOT transluscent?

the bottom panel (where the button to switch between open applications are) is translucent, I see the wallpaper behind it.
how do I make (more) it opaque so that it's easier to see those tabs?

You may have to turn off desktop effects or change your theme.

You can also change the individual component of the theme - the panel - saving the result as a 'custom' theme.
