    KDE Font starting too large!

From a fresh install of Karmic Koala, KDE is starting up with a font size that's way too large
for the Toshiba Satellite M35X Laptop screen of 1280x800
Which config file controls the overall system font size?

I Tried specifying an /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to use, but KDE still exhibits fonts that
    are too large to display!

Your proposed solution assumes that I can even see the KDE Menu -- It's TOO LARGE to fit on the screen!

I'd start by changing the resolution to something large like 1620x1280. That should get your font small enough to work with
Ya hear that? That's the blues callin' baby.

Boot into recovery (single user) mode. Then take a look at your /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc file. What is shown for the ServerArgsLocal= entry in the section [X-:*-Core]?
