Well, tested kdesudo dolphin just a second ago, and it works again. Dolphin launches in root mode and all places are navigable as one would expect.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Dang! Just tried it again, and I get "The processes for the file protocol died unexpectedly." error - again. So, not resolved after all. No idea why it worked last night and not now. Hmm. :PWindows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: [RESOLVED - NOT] kdesudo - bug report filed
The problem is also bugged on Launchpad several times. If you guys haven't found it already there's a workaround - I don't like it much but it works.
gksudo dbus-launch application-namewe see things not as they are, but as we are.

Hi,
Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. But don't worry! This issue is being tracked by the KDE developers at: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165268
Once fixed in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu once the KDE version the fix is in in reaches Kubuntu.
Thanks!

KDESudo vs. KDESu with sudo
Status quo
In KDE 3 we use a home made application called KDESudo, which enables proper sudo usage for root authentification. KDESu in 4 however does an equal good job with sudo.
Proposal
Instead of reinventing the wheel (i.e. port KDESudo to KDE 4) we should help KDE improve KDESu's sudo support for KDE 4.1. This would probably only be resolving some issue and adding the application icon to the password dialog.
> HOWTO - get kdesu back to normal in KDE4
Code:sudo ln -s /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu /usr/bin/kdesu

Re: [RESOLVED - NOT] kdesudo - bug report filed
Well, I tried:
Code:kdesudo 'dbus-launch dolphin --nofork'
Code:kdesudo dolphin
At least I have a way to launch dolphin in root mode with this tip. Not a fix to the problem, but is a suitable temporary work-around.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

To save typing, I copied the menu entry for Dolphin, renamed it (Dolphin - Root) and modified the Command entry with:

kdesudo is not an official KDE program, but a Kubuntu one. I suggest that you
report the bug at the proper place: https://launchpad.net/kdesudo
And then please close this bug as RESOLVED -> UPSTREAM or whatever.
