[RESOLVED] Aurorae Theme Engine - Can't install

    paul@myotherbrain:~$ simI kwin-style-aurorae

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kwin-style-aurorae: Depends: kde-window-manager but it is not going to be installed
    E: Broken packages

    paul@myotherbrain:~$ simI kde-window-manager
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
kde-window-manager is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

    paul@myotherbrain:~$ showme kde-window-manager | grep [Vv]ersion
    Version: 4:4.4.0-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa7 <<< Installed
    Version: 4:4.3.5-0ubuntu1~karmic1
    Version: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu7.1
    Version: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu7

And I can't install kwin-style-aurorae why? Is it because it has not yet been written for KDE 4.4? I notice that the developer, in the description on kde-look says:
    Description:
This version is for KDE SC 4.3. If you use KDE SC 4.4 or later, please use the version of Aurorae shipped with KDE SC and do not install the version offered here!

I didn't install anything to start using it. I just went to System Settings --> Appearance --> Windows and in the Windows Decoration tab i choose from the fist pull down box Aurorae Decoration Theme Engine entry. I went back to Synaptic and it does show kwin-style-aurorae but it isn't installed and I'm still able to use the Aurorae engine.

Okay. I see it now. Thank you.

Installed the Tragedy Theme. Now I have a consistent look - Tragedy Plasma Theme and Tragedy Theme Windows Decorator. Nice.

I actually used Carbon. I have a Plasma Theme the Combines part of Carbon, part of Oxygen and Part OxyGlass. Aurorae engine just made all of that great!

Carbon was a Plasma Theme I looked at. Haven't loaded it to see what it would actually look like on my laptop. The Tragedy Theme is just SO nice. It really suites my tastes.

Took another look at the Carbon Plasma Theme on kde-look. If this were a Carbon-Black Plasma Theme, I might consider it. But, it isn't a dark theme - to greenish for my.
