    Re: KDE 4.4.0 Akonadi Server

Install virtuosoconverter from the repos and run it in a termional or krunner (alt+f2).
    It's already converted, apparently.

does it crash before you can deactivate akonadi
    It sure does.

I've just noticed that if I DON'T make any changes to mysql-local.conf then I can start akonadi, just once, before it crashes after I've opened kontact when i open the contacts bit of it.

      Okay.

Can you stop nekomuk services from system settings and akonadi server.

Then open up kontact and disable all akonadi resources stuff.

      Close kontact.

      go to:
      /home/youruser/.local/share/akonadi/
      and

      /home/youruser/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/
      and delete error messages

Restart akonadi server then test the server.

What error messages do you get?

        Done.

Then open up kontact and disable all akonadi resources stuff.
It still tries to start the Akonadi server, and so Kontact is frozen. However, I disalbled all akonadi resources through System Settings > Advanced User Settings > KDE Resources. (But still can't start Kontact)

I'm unable to start Akonadi. Mysql isn't showing any errors now, it's dbus registration!

        akonadi_control.error

Unable to register service as org.freedesktop.Akonadi.Control Maybe it's already running?

          Re: KDE 4.4.0 Akonadi Server

Well, I appear to have resolved the issue for me. I added Akonaditray to Autostart so that it is running when the Desktop appears. Then, starting Kontact produces no Akonadi Server Self-Test pop-up, and everything in Kontact - my Contacts in particular - are available. For me, this issue is solved.

Re: [RESOLVED] KDE 4.4.0 Akonadi Server

Spoke to soon. My Akonadi issue - not activating Personal Contacts - still happens, but less often. So, I'll remark this as semi-resolved.

I'm trying to get to grips with akonadi myself here. annew will get hold of the developers to establish what is put where.
