KDE4.4 RC install question

Hello there. I am new here and just swithched from suse 11 to kubuntu 9.10

I am very pleased with Kubuntu but do have a question.

I want to install kde4.4 rc and went here to install the repo:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Kubuntu

I followed the instructions and added:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu karmic main

to my repos.

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

only gives me kde4.3.4 but not kde4.4 rc.

What am I doing wrong?

To update, use the Software Repository Guide to add the following repository to your software sources list:
ppa:kubuntu-ppa/beta

You have :

backports/ubuntu karmic main

Soryy for seaming a bit thick.
So I add :

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/beta/ubuntu karmic main

or do:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

?

There are kubuntu-ppa/backports and kubuntu-ppa/beta. They are sub-repositories of the kubuntu-ppa


The KDE 4.4 RC1 is now in the kubuntu-ppa/beta.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/beta

Will add the kubuntu-ppa/beta through the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/kubuntu-ppa-beta-karmic.list

man sources.list

SOURCES.LIST.D

The /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory provides a way to add sources.list entries in separate files. The format is the same as for the regular sources.list file.
