    [RESOLVED] Device Notifier missing 'actions'

    Karmic 9.10, KDE 4.3.4

Device Notifier, which was functioning fine before I upgraded from KDE 4.3.2 to 4.3.4, now doesn't have the device actions, including the 'Eject' action button for the removable devices that are connected and reported. What's the fix for this? I've already tried removing the widget and reinstalling it. The problem remains.

    plasma-widget-mountoid?
This plasmoid provides a way to mount/unmount devices from fstab
(e.g. network shares), show free space and open mount point location
in a file manager. It is fully configurable.
However, you'll note that it only works for things that are in /etc/fstab. I must admit that, nowadays, I'm confused about what appears in fstab and what doesn't.

slightly later: I just noticed that NONE of my removable devices show up in fstab. AARGH!

Never mind! This was nothing more than a 'mental' moment.

The reason that the Device Notifier wasn't showing, in this instance, the 'Eject' button, is none of the three USB devices were mounted. Can't eject what isn't mounted. :P

So, nothing is wrong with the Device Notifier - just the operator!
