Please help a KDE 4.x newbie

Hello, I have a couple of questions regarding Kubuntu 9.10/KDE 4.3.2 that I could not solve through the System Settings myself:

    0) When using multiple desktops, I'd really like the taskbar to not show minimized window icons on each and every desktop, but only those that I told it to. This is easy to do in KDE 3.5, not quite so in 4.3.2
    1) Any way to make the start menu (the big K at the bottom left corner) more KDE 3.x like? The 4.x one is very time consuming.
    2) I'm using english and russian keyboard layouts, and I've grown accustomed to switching between them with right ctrl + left shift, so I chose Ctrl+Shift in the settings. Unfortunately, pressing left ctrl+left shift also triggers the change, which conflicts with some of my text editing habits (like selecting all text in the window below and including the current line with left ctrl+left shift+end). How can I tell it to ignore the left ctrl key? Once again I did it somehow in KDE 3.5 long ago, but can't remember it now.

    Thanks for any tips.

Right click the taskbar -> Task Manager Settings -> Only show tasks from the current desktop

Right click the K button -> Switch to classic menu style

Thanks! Believe it or not, I've tried right clicking the taskbar before - it's just not so easy to find its "G spot" when several windows are open. I've closed a few to make some free space on it, and only then could I "right click the taskbar".

      This I haven't tried, thanks!

Question regarding session management: when I close the current session (like turning off the computer) and open it up later, all windows that were previously open are indeed reopened, but in a seemingly random order. For example, I'm used to konsole always being the first, then goes firefox etc. This was no problem in KDE 3.5, it just worked (c), but isn't the case with 4.3.2. Can't it remember the window order when it closes the session, and reopen it exactly that way later?
