    hello folks

i got this annoyin problem lately in netbook ( a packarbell Dot M with the malicious GMA500 chipset, but with the driver poulsbo from ubuntu-mobile repositories workin')

the problem is that when i am writing in kate o kwrite wvery time that a put a character in the screen part blink and hide the text under it.

i know that is a little bit difficult to imagine, that because i upload a video to youtube that shows the situcion
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km9ejndh9wE .

this problem doesn't present in OOo and another text editors like mousepad and notepad ( from wine )

anyone with an idea? please it would help me a lot because i take notes from class in this PC

    thank in advance

Welcome. What version of Kubuntu are you using, and what version of KDE?

Wow. That's some messed up 'something' (watched the vid). You said 'lately', meaning this was not happening before? If yes, when did you first notice this behavior?

well lately i mean, like 3 week ago i updated the system and the poulsbo driver , which has fame of been buggy, it screwed up all my system. in that time i was using xubuntu 'cause i didn't know how much the netbook can give.

after that i had been trying different distros ( fedora for his poulsbo support, arch has a nice PKGBUILD for poulsbo ) but nothing work. and the last friday i was looking in the web some solution for the crash in xubuntu, and figure out how to solve it.

i think i had expressed in the wrong way in the post ( bad english sorry ) this is the first time that i use kubuntu ( and kde ) in a netbook.

the problem is only present in kwrite and kate. i really uses them a lot , because i don't like to take notes in OOo and i read a lot of code to figure out how it work ( but i didn't understand a lot ).

really nobody had has the same issue?
