Re: Desktop effects wont work
Success My problem was the way the driver was installed along with some hacks to xorg.config and all is working well in desktop effects.
my fix was envyng although I had the driver it suggested installed I must have not done it correctly. I did strip the system down first using dibl guide posted here:

then I used envyng after reboot all was working like it should.
I did try compiz but I ended up taking it back out as it did not work either. but that was before I reinstalled everything.
