Konqueror--where is the webarchiver menu selection?

    Hi,

I have a "web archiver" menu selection (in konqueror) on my laptop. The menu item allows me to save a web page as a "war" archive--which is simply a tarball with a "war" extension. It is not here on my desktop. Does anyone know how to make it so?

    Thanks,
    Frank

What version of Kubuntu are you running, and what version of KDE?

When you opt to so archive a web page, where does it say the *.war file will be saved to? Just like any other dialog for saving, you can change the location the file will be saved to, either by browsing or by prefacing the file name with the direct path. In you case, you want them saved to your Desktop. So, with the dialog open, preface the file name with ~/Desktop/ and that's where the file will be saved.

          Snowhog,

This isn't a new user issue, as in I don't understand directories or how to save files.

There is no way to tell my browser to archive a site. The capability is just not there!

Thanks... no attitude intended.... appreciate the comment.

In your OP, you said: "I have a "web archiver" menu selection (in konqueror) on my laptop." but then you say: "There is no way to tell my browser to archive a site. The capability is just not there!"

Did I miss something? The first implies you have the capability in Konquer, but the last says otherwise.

My laptop has the ability, my desktop does not. I will post a screen shot when I get home tonight and can access my laptop--a picture is clearer...

              Thanks!

Here is a screen shot of my laptop versus my desktop.

Phew... The resolution on those images stinks.

They can be viewed here as well:

I would be pretty confident is saying that what you have installed on your Desktop PC isn't the same as on your laptop.

On your desktop PC, with Konqueror running, click on Help > About Konqueror and About KDE. What version of each is shown?

Both systems are the same... this is what's so mystifying.

My laptop is not functioning very well for the webarchiver menu selection. But the laptop gives some satisfaction to my work. The resolution is mainly needed for everything.
