    KDE4.3 RC1 problem

    Hi all

    I have installed kde 4.3 rc1 through the backports. There is a small issue that I have been facing of late. I have put the desktop wallpaper to slideshow. I was happy to see that there was a fade-in effect when changing wallpapers. But, that happiness did not last long. Now, when the wallpaper changes the transition is very choppy. All other desktop effects are working well.

    Can someone help me out?

    I'll speculate that it is a video driver / GLX kind of problem. Is it an Intel GPU? If so, there have been issues with Intel drivers in the new X.org -- search on Ubuntu forms for the driver options to optimize your particular Intel GPU.

      Hi there...

      Thanks for the suggestion. I have an nvidia 8600GT sli card in my laptop. It's got the latest nvidia drivers 180.44. Do you think I need to upgrade the 181+ driver? Anyway, I'll do that and let you know.

      I seriously hope this issue will be solved by this.
