    That is an interesting publication. You can find it here http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/2009/05/threads.html as a post "KDE 4 simply broken" with some interesting responses that shed some further light on how to make things work.

        It sure looks like he did a lot of work documenting what does not work on his machine. Others may have different results. For example, he claims the KWeather is "missing", but it seems to be working fine in my system tray. I don't use half the stuff he said is broken so I couldn't address everything he said, BUT, he seems to recognize but ignore an important fact:

        With Debian introducing KDE 4 into their unstable branch this month (April 2009) a large number of people -- most importantly yours truly -- will probably be hitting many of the problems I discuss below.
