Hello, I have the beta version of kde 4.2 running and Im getting all this strangeness on the task bar http://www.moonet.co.uk/kde4.2.eurgh.png. I have tried both the open source and nvidia drivers and get the same effect. Its not really harming usability but it is darned ugly.

Re: Glitchy Problem with the task bar with Version 4.1.85 (KDE 4.1.85 (KDE 4.2 Beta2
I haven't seen that, exactly, but I do have two items of buggy behavior that suggest the KDE 4.2 panel isn't done yet:
1. Occasionally, immediately after booting and logging in, I find the real mouse cursor location is "displaced" two icons to the right of where it appears to be on the panel. In other words, I have to move the visible pointer two icons to the left of whatever icon I intend to click on, before clicking, in order to open the intended package. This phenomenon seems to fix itself after a period of time, or a number of clicks -- particularly after I run VMware Player which has a Win XP VM on it.
2. When opening multiple packages in sequence, it can get to a point where the panel seems to "quiver" as it attempts to resize its length to accommodate more open packages in the taskbar space. In other words, at bootup I have a centered panel that uses probably 75% of the screen width, and at a point in opening packages it seems to want to go to full-screen width, or not, or yes, or not, or .... it's kind of indecisive about its new length. Eventually it settles upon something and is OK, but the process of choosing the new length appears to be less than crisp.
