    kinstaller

    Hi there!

I installed kubuntu 8.04 and I'm trying to customize it.
I would like to use kinstaller for tar gz files.
I used the "guess" button to get a base directory and the application chose /usr.
I thought it was fine but then, when I tried to install a package, an error message was shown: "KDE base directory isn't correct".
I don't know which other directory I could choose... I tried with some others but it always gives me the same error message

    Thanks for your help

    Re: kinstaller

I am not sure what you mean, are you asking for the path to kinstaller?

    If so, it is:
    /usr/bin/kinstaller

      Re: kinstaller

kinstaller is available from the repositories. Sounds like you downloaded the application manually, and installed it manually. Is this the case? Better if you had used Adept Package Manager from the K Menu to select it for installation, or done so from the command line with sudo apt-get install kinstaller.
