Anyone else noticing that when you click Install New Widgets > Download from Internet that only three plasmoids are listed? I had previously seen many more.

Re: Only three plasmoids?
Maybe:
Earlier > Topic: How do I download / install widgets from the Internet?
There were more script plasmoids but:
It seems to download, to the /var/tmp/kdecache-<USER>/http/d/ BUT that's all.
I think that this should answer that question:
http://aseigo.blogspot.com/2008/10/p...-complete.html
Unfortunately those two scripts are packaged incorrectly and thus do not actually work with the automagic installation...Before you edit, BACKUP !
Why there are dead links ?
1. Thread: Please explain how to access old kubuntu forum posts
2. Thread: Lost Information

Re: Only three plasmoids?
The problem seems to be with how the underlying script 'polls' the designated location (URL). That's a pure guess of course.
This is the 'source' for http://download.kde.org/khotnewstuff...-providers.xml

92216 Cpu Frequency Selector 77 0xDeadC0de roguestar191@comcast.net GPL Simple python plasma applet designed to mimic the behavior of the gnome cpu frequency selector applet. It allows the user to select an available cpu frequency via the userspace governor, or another available governor to use. It is not yet integrated with policykit, which means a chown +s of cpufreq-set is required for now to use as non-root, which apparently can be a security flaw. Afaik the gnome applet has the same flaw. 0.1 2008-11-03 http://download.kde.org/khotnewstuff...s/m92216-1.png http://download.kde.org/khotnewstuff...ufreq.plasmoid 50 199 http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=92216
