    password

    I bought a decent used computer that has kubuntu installed but its password protected....is there anyway to get past this?

          Follow the link provided by arochester. It describes and shows you how to change the password.

            it didnt work the last time I tried it but I didnt type exit after the password was reset..is that what actually saves the new password

              Probably.

              "You'll then be prompted for a new password. When you type the password you will get no visual response acknowledging your typing. Your password is still being accepted. Just type the password and hit Enter when you're done. You'll be prompted to retype the password. Do so and hit Enter again.

              Now the password should be reset. Type
              exit
              to return to the recovery menu."

                  ok got the password this all worked out but now I can get into the admistrator mode......error says conversation with su failed
