inability to trash & confusing error messages

I am a critically challenged newbie, first post and do enjoy kubuntu KDE3.
I have posted this present concern to several forums with a lot of opinions, but no viable solution. Two error messages started about same time so it leads me to believe they are related and yes I have goggled until I am literally at wits end.
    1. At boot before I can do anything an error message appears center bottom screen
    Error-KDE Par
    Malformed URL
    System:/

    2. When I attempt to trash something I receive (could not start process. Unable to create 10-slave klauncher said: Unknown protocol

All upgrades are current and I would appreciate any suggestions or options that might lead to a solution to this annoying concern

My own googling leads me to suspect this is related to a bluetooth device or process:

Do you need Bluetooth capability? If not, there are probably several approaches to removing or disabling it. The easiest is to go into KMenu > System Settings > Advanced > Services and find the bluetooth service and set it not to start.

I think there is a package "kbluetooth" or perhaps "kdebluetooth" that you can mark for removal with Adept -- that might help too.

I do not need bluetooth capability so I disabled first same situation. Then I uninstalled with no apparent difference. I do appreciate your quick response and interest however

Cool -- now we can add two things to the list of non-solutions.

Open Adept Manager and find the packages that start with "kdebase". Mark them for reinstallation and click "apply". It's not a likely solution, but it's harmless. I think your problem has to do with "kio-slave" and "klauncher", but you are correct that google isn't finding a lot of direct hits.
