Resolution error on login, can't log in

After changing my resolution down once, and then moving it up, I had to boot into XP, then back into Kubuntu. When I tried to log back in, the resolution was much lower then it should be. I can only log in via failsafe mode. I tried to use the sax2 command in a root shell, but that didn't help - it only said that the command wasn't recognised. I got the same error for yast2. I tried to use xrandr to change it, but it wouldn't do anything. On "xrandr -s", it showed the maxinum resolution as 680x480 (something like that), while my moniter is 1400x900. I used 'xrandr -x 1400 -y 900', but it didn't do anything. I also did alternate+f2 while in failsafe mode, but that didn't do anything either.

Anybody have a solution? Here's a video of it if you need one. http://youtube.com/watch?v=l0dRZvm49pA

Sounds like your /etc/X11/xserver-xorg file is borked. I'd try starting a konsole or a yakuake dropdown and running
    Code:
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
Actually, I'd edit the file by hand, but that's another (longer) story.
