    wireless driver with no ethernet

i just installed kubuntu on my father's dell pc, but i forgot that i need the internet before i can get the driver for the wireless card that's in the pc. however, there is one drawback. i cant use ethernet, so i essentially cannot acess the internet. the ethernet card got fried (long story) and it's built in to the motherboard, so replacement is a no-go. he happened to have a spare wireless card laying around so he is using that for now. what i normally do when i'm installing linux on to a computer on a wireless network is just set up a temporarilly wired network, install linux, get the wireless drivers and install them, and then just use the wireless from then on. however, this tactic is of no use in this case so any suggestions on how to obtain and install the driver for a i-eee 802.11g wirelesscard bus/pci adapter, marvell being the windows driver provider, would be great. btw,i have a computer sitting right beside the dell that CAN access the internet so if all i need to do is download it, that is also an option.

Best guess here is to use the install cd and install ndiswrapper-common and ndiswrapper-utils-1.9. If you have the driver cd for the wireless you can install the driver using ndiswrapper. If you do not have the driver CD you can search for available drivers on google and put them on a USB thumb drive or possibly burn them to a CD.

I always take my laptop with me during troubleshooting/install sessions. I know then I can get access to what I need, without depending on someone else having something available.
