Hello,
Some background: When KDE 4.0 was first released, I installed it but it messed up my settings completely, so I uninstalled it via apt-get. It did get rid of KD4 correctly, however whenever I log in now, I get the initial kubuntu progress bar and then get thrown to the command prompt without KDE starting. If at the prompt, I give the following command
it starts up KDE3.5 as it should.
For academic purposes, how do I fix this so that KDE 3.5 automatically starts?
I have now installed KDE4.0.1 and Adept showed that it installed correctly. However I am still faced with the same issue as above which is I get thrown to the command prompt after I boot. How do I get into KDE4.0? Shouldnt there be a choice to what version of KDE I should be able to use?
Thanks in advance for the help.
