    problems trying to remove kde4

as the object says, I tryed kde4 on my laptop and, after few weeks of happiness, I tryed to remove it.
I just removed kde4-core and every package with "kde4" in the name. It was hard to come back to my old kde3.5 (no graphical login, no files on the desktop...) but i do.
The problem is that now I have no more konqueror (and can't install anymore)
If I try to install it from terminal this is the output (in italian...)
    Code:
I seguenti pacchetti hanno dipendenze non soddisfatte:
konqueror: Dipende: kcontrol (= 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu2.1) ma 4:3.5.8-2ubuntu3~gutsy1~ppa1 sta per essere installato
Dipende: kfind (= 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu2.1) ma 4:3.5.8-2ubuntu3~gutsy1~ppa1 sta per essere installato
    E: Pacchetto non integro
If I try to do it in adept it says "break" instead of "install".
I think there are some dependences problem but don't know how to manage...

    Please could someone help me??
    thank you!!

Re: problems trying to remove kde4

    Been there, done that.
That is: cleaning Kubuntu Gutsy (sudo apt-get remove kdelib5...).

I have to remove all ppa packages and install clean packages from ordinary repositories:

    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

Re: problems trying to remove kde4

I want to reinstall KDE 4, because of some problems (see: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3093204.0), but I decided that in order to do that I have first uninstall KDE 4 completely
(I have already reinstalled, but there are still same problems...). When i write the sudo in konsole i get this
          error:
Package kde4base-data is not installed, so not removed
          E: Couldn't find package kde4libs-data

          What should I do??

Are you sure about this? It does not sound like "normal" Linux requirement.

            Did you try
            Code:
            sudo apt-get --reinstall install kde4-core

I did that and this is what i got:
              libcompizconfig0 libdecoration0 libx11-xcb1 compiz-plugins compizconfig-backend-kconfig compiz-core
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.

Need to get 0B/2908B of archives.
After this operation, 0B of additional disk space will be used.

I don't think this is what I should get

Hmmm. Well, if you wish to remove KDE4 and restore KDE3.5, you'll need to know about this:

                http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...seen#msg126182

And you would be wise to either avoid "autoremove" altogether, or else first do
                Code:
                sudo apt-get autoremove -s
to simulate the operation. "autoremove" has been found to do great damage, sometimes -- it can be a very rough command on your packages.

I cannot predict the consequences of removing the listed packages from your system -- it would appear only your Compiz performance would be damaged, but I can imagine that it's pretty well shot at this point anyway. :P

So maybe you would like to apt-get remove them one at a time, and observe whether there is any bad effect.
