    geesh I mentioned Yakuake like, what, a hundred posts back

    There used to be a patch for the code that allowed that, but it no longer is valid

      Actually, from the top is just fine. Better, in fact. I was just stuck on the Dolphin idea.
      OK, it goes over the FF window, but not much, it's just fine to copy/paste instructions on web pages.

        Glad you're happy. I don't see what has been gained - it's still a copy/paste action. O.K. ...

          What has been gained is that in the case of repeated copy/paste actions, there's basically no switching.
          Like the Dolphin terminal, it's always there. And you don't have to resize the windows or go through the panel.
          You just have to set the "proper" size for the yakuake window, and tell it to "keep window open when it loses focus", which means "stay on top".

              Yeah well, I do tend to read what I copy/paste... especially paste

              As to the hidden-character exploit, both konsole and yakuake seem to be smart enough not to be fooled that easily:
