Well, folks, I really DO admit that I have not been up on my Akregator feeds but I ran across this tonight.

KDE foundation has received a $300,000 USD donation and Calligra has received $100,000 USD !

Something which MAY be related to this, and about which I was already going to post in another thread is that for the last few weeks MS at the college had been "accepting without complaint" the ODF format versions of my presentations!
But, GOOD NEWS!!
