Since I don't have $63K I'm sticking with my 6 year old Acer, which has been given new life with a Samsung SSD and NVidia graphics performance that gives me 10,000 fps on the desktop and 500 fps in Minecraft. It works faster than I can think or type.

Wow. You can get some pretty serious computing done with one of those.

I really wish system76 laptops had international keyboard options...

The old Alien Game laptops come to mind ... they were only $4K, tops!

Thelio massive has USB3 & esata, thelio major has USB 3.1 & USB-c? No front IO on any of them?

My spare parts desktop and my low mileage survivor laptop cost me less than $1000.00 - together, even with an updated Nvidia card and a new spacious case for the desktop.

System 76 is not likely to ever get any of my cash with their prices (and a free OS).

Boy, ain't that the reality of it! I built my current PC in 2015, most major parts were new (mobo, CPU, P/S, memory), the rest re-used, say total cash out was maybe $1100 or so. My backup machine I built in 2009 and has 18.04 loaded on it just in case ... Both monitors are old, 2009 and older (one is CRT), working just fine.

CRT?!?!?!?!? Wow, my last CRT pooped out a couple of years ago. I didn't realize how really nice the modern presentation layer looked until I got the replacement (on sale!) 22" flat panel
