Hey you guys have been really excellent to me and I'm so glad you shared your ideas with me, it's making my transtition to full time kubuntu so much easier.
My question is about HDCP, under linux generally, but of course I personally use Kubuntu 18.04.1.
I have some movies on vudu.com. I paid for the HDX version which is vudu speak for 1080p. However vudu enforces HDCP for movies above SD resolution, and so when I try to play them in HDX I get a message saying HDCP isn't supported.
I'm assuming what this boils down to is that there is a mainstream way, typically using windows and there is a linux way, so to speak. That is to say the better way to do things generally is using entirely different technologies for HD playback and so I'm probably not going to find an easy solution to getting HDCP going as it's not ideal.
I did read some on both hdcp in linux and trying to get vudu going on linux but I'm betting you can explain it so much better than what snips and pieces I have found on google.
