Here is a copy of a feedback that I just sent to Firefox.
I was trying to go to amazon.com. I typed amazon.com in the address bar and got a google list of sites. I clicked on the first one and it immediately came up with some warning about my computer being compromised and to enter my username and password so I get to download a Microsoft health check. Unfortunately for those criminals, I am using Linux plus I am too old and have been using computers since the minicomputer age so I realized in a millisecond it was an identity theft attempt. No way am I falling for such an obvious trick. I could figure out a way to kill the tab and figured I'd have no choice but to restart FF in safe mode in order to stop them. I tried one last thing to try to kill the tab. I pressed the escape key then quickly clicked on the tabs close key. It worked. I thought I should warn you lest other people get sucked into this bad stuff.
These ... er... people? will try anything. I hope no one else gets suckered as that would be terrible as it would take years to sort it all out and your credit rating would probably wind up ruined for years!
