I'm using Palemoon V. 27.9.0 right now. Reading the PM forum, there do seem to be some glitches, depending on which OS you're using, not just Linux, but Windows too. Nothing that is a real show-stopper, but if you rely on your browser for work, be aware of this.

I'd advise waiting a bit before you make the switch to Ver. 28, unless you want to contribute to the debugging effort.

Yup. Just posted it for general info.
I use FF myself, with a large hosts file to block ads and the socials: YT, FB, Gog and the like.

I have just installed the latest version, and it is running well. I like the way it set up my bookmarks list without me having to do anything at all. Falkon was much harder to get started. Nice browser, this. Maybe it will become my regular browser, though for now I still depend on FF.

Re the Palemoon (PM) browser. Google has now rejected it with their reCAPTCHA authenication tool. I can no longer even attempt to pass the auth. tests. That is blocking me from several websites which use this tool. FYI. You may run into this if you use the PM browser, Ver 27. I have not yet tried the latest PM version (28). [EDIT] I've now installed the PM Ver. 28 browser, which is still based on Mozilla's ESR Firefox release.

reCAPTCHA DOES NOT WORK with the release either. FYI

I gave PM27 the same cursory look I gave 28 and rejected it for various incompatibilities, mainly with plugins and extensions. I have two extensions that are a must: emailing the webpage link that I am on, with the title of the web page in the subject line and the link in the first line of the message body, and, video downloading.

PM doesn't have extensions that work for either of those requirements.

As far as Gog goes, I have it and FB blocked in my hosts file. IIRC, Gog has over 1,400 domain entries related to tracking, cookies and all-around spying. FB is even worse. I think they create several new ones each day to circumvent the hosts file blocking.

GG. I'm to the point of switching browsers, again, for similar reasons. I'm going to try Waterfox next.

I never heard of Waterfox before. It looks interesting! I've DL'd it and will experiment with it tomorrow.

Scratch that idea. Waterfox is only available in 64bit compiles. I'm limited to 32bit on my system.
GG, I'll look forward to your testing...

I tried Waterfox for awhile and it worked about the same as Firefox. I stopped using it when my system crashed and I had to re-install Kubuntu 18.04

Crashed? As in BSOD? Or systemd crash?

No, crash as in I did something fatally wrong when trying to copy an appimage to a USB drive awhile ago, which I sort of detailed in a previous post. Waterfox was not the culprit.
