I've been using the "basic" (only English), fresh AppImage (6.1.0.3) for a couple of days. Works just fine. I disabled the LibreOffice launchers in /usr/share/applications and made my own in ~/.local/share/applications for the AppImage version.

It writes config stuff and backups to subfolders in ~/.config/libreoffice/6.1.0/.

is the version with Help built-in. The notable difference is that pressing F1 (for help) opens your internet browser to view the "local" help and doesn't open another window of LibreOffice (as happens with a repo/ppa install).
