New update on ChromeOS dev channel

You don't need a mega-spensive Pixelbook to get Linux app/container support, tho you do need a very recent one, such as my $300 convertible Lenovo 500e, and you need to be on the dev channel

Nice! I had a Hisense Chromebook which worked very well - except the battery failed after just 18 months. I try to stay away from Intel processors because of the Minix subsystem and what i believe to be the purposely crippled hardware backdoors. The Hisense has a recent SoC that is snappy enough in performance and had a well designed trackpad. They are out of production now but some are still available as refurbs. I hope they produce an newer model since this Linux capability is desirable.
