I took a look at who Judith Bergman is. She is a writer and political analyst living in Israel. As well as writing articles for the gatestone institute she also writes for https://www.israelrising.com/ is it any wonder why her articles are demonising Islam? Also, she bashes everyone who she thinks is bashing Israel. So it is also no surprise that Judith Bergman also bashes the EU and the UN for in her mind their constant bashing of Israel.

And you choose to believe her?

I looked up her pedigree too.

Of course I do believe her. Where is she lying? It's not a "bash" if it is the truth. Is she to be discounted just because she is a Jew? And, the bashing of Israel by the EU and the UN is not "in her mind", it is a fact.

With all the UN resolutions against Israel, could it be because of their treatment towards the Palestinians over the years and the continuing human rights abuses against the Palestinians?

Or, could it be that the members of the UNCHR is populated by Muslims and Israeli hating countries. Those who have and continue to shout "Death to Israel", and are constantly launching morters and rockets into Israel from the Gaza strip. Israel is, after all, the only democracy in that region, and democracy is not a suicide pact. Two million Muslims in Israel work and live side by side and Muslims are in the Parliament. Over a thousand serve in the Israeli military. 25,000 attend Israeli universities.

Arabs and Muslims are not wanting to leave Israel, they are migrating into it. Not all Muslims want "death to Israel".

Why would that be if Israel was such a bad place for Muslims to live?

IMO, GitLab seems the best choice, but what would a developer do when the site is down or their Internet connection is down?

Even in a client server scenario the possibility exists that the servers would be down. At one client's location (who later gave me an offer my wife wouldn't let me refuse), the network admin was so poor that on any given Monday one was guaranteed a half a day of "vacation". It got so tiresome and predictable that I set up my own version control system on my workstation, and backed it up to a SuSE server I set up in my office. After that the instability of the network never was an issue with me.

Before I started using Linux in 1998 I "version controlled" by making daily (or more frequently) copies of my development directories. On SuSE 5.3 after September of 1998 I began using CVS, which was a clutzy system. I almost went back to making copies. Then Subversion came out around 2000. To make matters even better an SVN client for Windows came out, TortoiseSVN and, for Linux, Cerversia, IIRC, which was a plugin for the file manager. Then, in 2005 Bazaar came out. Compared to the previous VCS's Bazaar was drop dead easy to use. I began using it not only to control the versions of my source code, but the contents of my directories as well. The department head, who was a Windows fanboy, told me to install SourceSafe on the network and use it. Total disaster. He thought it was me, so he tried to set it up and use it. He failed as well. A dozen programmers were spared a fate worse than death.

Luckily, around the same time, Torvolds got into a fight with the author of the proprietary vcs called BitKeeper, so he decided to write his own:

Amazing. And, Git was amazingly simple to use. Within a year it was a plugin on Dolphin. Bazaar disappeared from my machine, replaced by Git. Just as I did with bzr, I used Git to version control not only my source code but every directory on my system my development server.

After I retired 10 years ago I used git on my PC for both source code and other directories. When I switched to Btrfs three years ago, and I hadn't written a line of code since 2008, I didn't see the need for git, because of snapshots, so I never installed it. Three packages that I've installed on my Neon contain the .git repository: P2P FreeNet, nethogs, and SageMath. The P2P stuff is going away.
