    Why Isn't Every Linux Distro Shipping KDE?

    Poking around in Youtube and came across this interesting video...

    When you look at the Linux world it looks very GNOME but KDE does exist and it looks like it's great so why don't more distros just ship KDE instead, well the answer might not be that complex.​

    The move from the huge, monolithic release cadence was understandable, I think, but def, hurt things for the distro packagers. I keep forgetting how large Plasma is, in terms of the number of bits.
    Brody is pretty sharp, but does seem to forget here that Red Hat's influence on the ecosphere pre-dates its acquisition by IBM.
    If memory serves, Suse used to employ a fair number of KDE devs back in the day, for example. Not sure who helps fund them theses days, or if there is actually much of that even happening like it used to.
