Looks like it's still being developed: Trinity Desktop Environment GIT Repositories
Although I'm not surprised that activity is not fast and furious at the moment. I mean, after all, Trinity is based on KDE 3 which was released in 2002 (isn't Linux super-awesome!?! )
The major distro shipping Trinity by default is Q4OS, which seems pretty alive and vibrant, and is currently ranked #38 on distro-watch. I downloaded an iso to take for a spin, even for nostalgia's sake if nothing else. I'm also curious as to the package availability. Honestly, if I were consulting a company or non-profit looking to move to Linux, Q4OS would at least likely be a serious consideration based on the rock-solid code base of Debian + KDE 3. Would seem an ideal fit in theory.
Another candidate is Exe GNU/Linux, which interestingly has a pretty cool-looking theme, and is based on Devuan, which is Debian without Systemd. Otherwise it uses Debian and Trinity repos, so would also be a good option to consider.

I ran Trinity on an Atom N270 netbook for awhile. It ran great and I had a blast, but Trinity really needs a display that's at least 768 pixels high. My 1024x600 netbook really didn't do it justice.we see things not as they are, but as we are.

Wizard, I thought about giving it a try out, just for old time sake because 3.X was really a GOOD DE, but then started wondering about what apps would be available for it. Did they include Qt5 libraries so one could run current Plasma apps, or is one restricted to what was available just before Tolltech switched from Qt3 to Qt4? Or, does one run Gnome apps? What's in their repository?Last edited by GreyGeek; Jan 15, 2018, 04:25 PM."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

I never tried to run Plasma 5 on that poor old netbook, GG
Buckets of information here, but it looks like it ships with updated KDE 3.5 apps - I was able to run GTK apps on it with no real issues.
