Why IS it that atheists want to BAN religious people from THEIR forum

    Ok follow this.

The atheists are ruled by ..."intelligence" , "logical thining" not...belief...

while "those stupid religious people" are "ruled" by belief...

    ok...GIVEN THAT...

There are TWO and ONLY TWO cases for "the presence of "a God" that will SEND YOU TO HELL".

    a) the god exists
    b) the god does not exist

    ok...

    arguing from that...

    For the RELIGIOUS PERSON...

    a) If the god exists then the religious person "is covered" she or he is going to "heaven / nirvana / whatever" OR if they "sin" then they go to "hell"
    b) if the god DOES NOT EXIST...then...no fault no foul...the religious person does not "have Heaven" but ALSO does not have to worry about hell.

    HOW ABOUT THE ATHEIST?

    a) if god does NOT EXIST...then no fault no foul...
    b) If god DOES exist.they are SCRE@#D as in going to HE@@ SCR@#$#

the "believer in god"...has the best of both worlds...god exists...OKAY...god does not exist...welll bye bye..

the "atheist"...if god does NOT exist...ok...

    BUT...if god EXISTS...they are ROYALLY scr@#$#...

THUS...the atheist...is always ...looking over her/his (must be politically correct) shoulder...

THE ATHEIST...>>HAS TO BAN...the "believer" JUST TO GET THEM AWAY...

    GO AWAY.,...GO AWAY...

I don't want to HEAR IT...!!

La la la la la I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT GOD!!

Yes, we have a Social/Casual talk forum, and we are very tolerant of opinions in here, myself included.

But seriously people, this is a linux/kubuntu forum...if 80% of new content on the latest posts are these, people will just stop coming here for their linux/kubuntu questions/answers.
(I have already unsubscribed my RSS-feed for new posts because of the amount of off-topic posts...I don't mind an occasional heated debate or non-linux arguments, but reading basically the same arguments repeatedly is too much of a distraction, for me at least...I can ignore the Social/Casual talk forum if I wish, but cannot stop them popping up on my feed)

If that's what you are aiming for, I'm not going to stop you, but surely there are better forums for these?

Yes. This exactly. I dont want to talk about politics but I constantly find myself drawn into stupid arguments on this site. I just want to talk about Linux and other computer stuff...

On a lighter note, Oscar Wilde is supposed to have one of his characters say that he could resist anything but temptation.

I'll try to post more support questions because I, being only two months in Kubuntu, have a lot of them

She gets credit for that and a lot of other stuff!

Hey Woody, no offense my Linux friend, but when it comes to these deep, delicate subjects--especially existence/non-existence of a god-creator and such, I can't help but feel that you greatly over-simplify the arguments. The greatest minds on Earth have grappled with these questions for centuries. Even the most obvious arguments are not at all obvious.

              Contemporary:

Follow PBS's series, Closer to Truth.
Read and think about the writings on the deity subject by leading cosmologist/astro-physicists.
On the subject of specific earth religions, start by going way back (to Roman times and before) of their origins and histories and what preceded their appearance (such as their history is, as it is often NOT).
              And so on.
Nothing wrong with drawing one's one personal conclusions about these issues, if only by, finally, just flipping coins.
But, this subject is neither simple nor obvious.

My old German dad said about this, At all costs, avoid talking to people about two subjects: Religion and Politics. As there is seldom any agreement; and you may lose friends. Related: Never mix business and money with family and friends ... but that's yet another subject ... better left at rest for now.

One would think, but try to make an effective Conservative YT video or post on any of the popular social networks and see how long it takes before your accounts is deleted.

I don't wish you (or anyone) to go away, I value everyone's opinion, especially those I do not agree with (one tends to learn nothing by only reading things one agrees with). I would just prefer if these forums were primarily about linux/kubuntu discussions with occasional side steps, rather than the other way around,

But that is just my personal preference, I'm not going to dictate what anyone should do.

Now I don't really want that anymore when more than 50% are just social talk posts rather than questions I can actually help someone with.

But like I said, I don't want to tell anyone what to do. I'm just saying this has an effect on how useful these forums are in their primary role as a support forum for kubuntu/linux.

I changed my forum bookmarks to https://www.kubuntuforums.net/search...ost&exclude=23 (added the exclusion to my old bookmarks), which really helps, but unfortunately I can't do that with the rss feed (if anyone has a solution, I'd gladly hear it).
