Pretty much the only time we got candy was Halloween, so I ate whatever our neighbors provided. It wasn't until I was 8-9 that my mother started letting us have candy any other time. Then my Grandpa always bought all the grandkids their favorite treat when we came over. Mine was always Snickers for years.

Candy corn at Halloween. We couldn't afford candy. Dad bought groceries at small local store because he could charge for them. Candy was never on the shopping list. So I looked forward to Halloween when I could dress up and take a paper bag round the neighborhood and collect the goodies. I also liked anything with Chocolate in them. Like chocolate covered cherries, still one of my favorites.
