Kdenlive Fails to Load on Kinetic

While i realise that Kinetic is in the early stages of development, I was surprised when Kdenlive failed to load. When using the command line, I get the following message and I was not able to find a way to resolve it. For Wayland the error message is:
    Code:
    $ kdenlive
QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread
QPaintDevice: Cannot destroy paint device that is being painted
Could not detect package type, probably default? App dir is "/usr/bin"
    = = = =
    GOT Deleted file: "/home/NoWorries/.config/kdenliverc"
For X11 the error message is:
    Code:
    $ kdenlive
QPaintDevice: Cannot destroy paint device that is being painted
Could not detect package type, probably default? App dir is "/usr/bin"
    = = = =
    GOT Deleted file: "/home/No_Worries/.config/kdenliverc"
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Seems to start ok on Kinetic here. Similar warnings, but without the kdenliverc one.

Thanks for trying it out. I have tried re-installing and that did not resolve my problem.

Today, after you message, I purged kdenlive and removed all the left over packages related to it. I then installed kdenlive and once again it crashed with the same error messages as before on Wayland.

Since the message references your kdenliverc file, have you tired renaming or deleting that, and see if it starts, or maybe shows different messaging?

Yes I have done that previously and there were some updates this morning that changed the error. With kdenliverc present I now get:
          Code:
          kdenlive
QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread
QPaintDevice: Cannot destroy paint device that is being painted
Could not detect package type, probably default? App dir is "/usr/bin"
=== /// CANNOT ACCESS SPEECH DICTIONARIES FOLDER
          KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2
          KCrash: Application Name = kdenlive path = /usr/bin pid = 2567
          KCrash: Arguments: /usr/bin/kdenlive
The Wayland connection experienced a fatal error: Bad file descriptor
After deleting kdenliverc I now get:
          Code:
          kdenlive
QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread
QPaintDevice: Cannot destroy paint device that is being painted
Could not detect package type, probably default? App dir is "/usr/bin"
My impression, either rightly or wrongly, is that the developers are making changes to fix this problem.

Today I had truckload of files downloaded, about 500, and one of them was kdenlive which now works as it should.

Many thanks to the developers who found the solution, which seems very extensive throughout all the system - well done!
