If you want a tablet that has a proper linux (glibc) environment, runs Qt apps, and is mostly open source (apart from Silica, a QML module), then consider backing this SailfishOS tablet:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/y...-in-1-tablet#/
The tablet can also run Android apps using a proprietary Android compatibility layer called AlienDalvik.
The hardware design for this tablet is proven - it's almost identical to Jolla's own SailfishOS tablet, which was manufactured but not shipped to most of its backers due to financial difficulties that the company was experiencing at the time. The leader of the campaign managed to purchase the original design and moulds from the original hardware designer, so they have minimal risk on the hardware side, and no software development costs either.
I've been using Sailfish for quite a while now, so if you have any questions about it, fire away!
