Are there any Liberals left in the Democrat Party?

Well ... what I think that what is being left out of this is...
That "liberals" have ranted and baleyhooed for decades that "they are better than that"...that they are the TRUE champions of "free speech" and that conservatives are just stupid Christians because the read the Bible.
In other words...the hypocricy...of the liberals saying that they are "better" than the conservatives who WOULD...in their articles etc. BAN PEOPLE...evil conservatives.
But... which side really IS..."banning discussion"...
Anybody remember the "big showdown" between Bill Nye and the stupid Christian about evolution?
Ummmmm the stupid Christian...actually showed up...to...DEBATE...

Well, it's been interesting, but the chances of either of us changing the other's mind are zero.
So, enjoy life, it's way too short anyway!"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

LOL
WHAT THE FUNK...you really DO...need to read ALL of this...lol...really...
TONIGHT HAS BEEN A REALLY GOOD NIGHT...it got me WAAAAYYYY BACK into "philosophy" and "scientific philosophy" and a bunch of other rabbit holes to chase the white rabbitt into...lol...but
I have, for several years now...said that..."the original way of thinking" was...conservatism. We will let that statement stand as is.
YES...there was "liberalism" even going back to the time of Christ... the whole thing about the "section of the early Catholic Church" that said that Christ was just a man and that he really stood for an abstraction...but
that "kind of thought" was always waaay off the radar...
then the whole French Revolution thing...
But...fundamentally that "conservativism" was the "original" and "long standing" mode of thought for "Western European / British" culture..
And that then led me to consider the following...
WHY IS IT...that, especially in the last decade that the "views" of "conservativism" and "liberalism" are so VIOLENTLY different, even in the face of it being 'bad for society"...
And...I formed an idea that "originally" "Liberalism" was "just liberalism"... a more "expansive" view of how society "should exist"..
But that, of late...
BECAUSE OF THE MEDIA AND SOUND BITES...
that "the true liberalism of the hippie sixties and the beatnick fifties" as a reaction to WWII etc...
had been turned into "I'm NOT HIM" pointing at the conservative...
Because that is something that the "media" could focus on and point at...
The conservative media points at "those folks" and how they are DIFFERENT from "us".
The liberal media points at "those folks" and how they are DIFFERENT from "us".
And ...since the "conservative" says that we should have a military to maybe protect us from a nutso bad actor like Idi Amin who had syphillis and was NOT rational...
the liberals have to be "against the military"
The "way people thought" for centuries was that there was some kind of "deity"...the conservative viewpoint
the liberals...because they "are not those folks" have to say that there is NOT a deity and that is the end of the discussion...
So... the big idea that I had come to was..."conservatives" had these ideas and liberals have "not THOSE ideas".
Well looky here...in a discussion about "positivism" and "anti-positivism" in science...
One scholar has described this debate in terms of the social construction of the "other",
with each side defining the other... by what it is not
rather than... what it is,
and then proceeding to attribute far greater homogeneity to their opponents than actually exists.
what I have been thinking this last few years! lol
