    [PLASMA 5] descent in kde...

    Crossposted to Debian forums -

    Clickable screenshot here -

Used to be one of my favorite games; linkage to .deb files, you need both of them, installed in this order.

    http://files.crnatural.net/pool/cont...er_1.2_all.deb

    http://files.crnatural.net/pool/cont...ble-with-demo/

Everything seems to work; midi music plays, mouse controls work but resolution seems to be limited to 800x600. Still, very cool - it even adds an entry to Debian's menu

    Enjoy -

Thanks for this, I'll have to try it out. I used to play Descent a lot back in the day. It's quite an unusual game with novel gameplay I haven't really seen in anything else since (not that I'm much of a gamer, so I might be wrong there).

A few years ago in K12.04 I had a DOS version installed in DOSBox which worked OK, but I haven't played it again since.
Desktop PC: Intel Core-i5-4670 3.40Ghz, 16Gb Crucial ram, Asus H97-Plus MB, 128Gb Crucial SSD + 2Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 HDD running Kubuntu 18.04 LTS and Kubuntu 14.04 LTS (on SSD).
Laptop: HP EliteBook 8460p Core-i5-2540M, 4Gb ram, Transcend 120Gb SSD, currently running Deepin 15.8 and Manjaro KDE 18.

It's been a buncha years but a friend got motion sickness watching me play once. The Linux port works pretty well, I believe you can also find the game in *buntu repos (I know Debian has it in Stretch and later) but the installation using Sid's repos didn't work for me.

The people that made it are currently developing a new version https://playoverload.com/

Try Alt+Enter while playing the game. It switched to full screen for me, also the options gave me 1920x1080 resolution.
