Just realized that I've never used testing version of jessie, I did have debian7 testing, then became debian8 stable, sorry, stupid mistake. Anyways, my main reason to move away from that compressed-titanium-solid distro was the need to manually upgrade every package that I need in the latest version, that includes: glibc, gcc, nasm, cmake, openjdk8/openjfx8,php7, etc. sometimes there was errors in the upgrades and is up to you to dive to the logs to figure it out. when I switched to Kubuntu, (which current version was Yakkety at the time) that problem was completely solved.
I got myself a new rig recently and I'm running Kubuntu Zesty Zapus, I can't honestly say is a pleasure to use such an interface and work with such a system.
